Sophomore center Jasmine Hassell hit two free throws with 8.9 seconds remaining and scored 16 points to lead Georgia to a 66-61 win over High Point on Sunday.

Georgia (8-2) trailed for much of the first half but led for most of the second. High Point was as close as 64-61 after Shamia Brown's layup with 29.7 seconds left to play.

After Khaalidah Miller missed a free throw for Georgia, the Panthers missed two potential game-tying 3-point shots. Hassell drew a foul after she rebounded the second miss.

Mackenzie Maier, Jurica Hargraves and Brown scored 13 apiece for High Point (6-6).

Georgia got 13 points from point guard Jasmine James.

High Point hit six of its first seven 3-point attempts as Georgia played from behind much of the first half. The Panthers led by as many as eight, 17-9, following Jurica Hargraves' 3-pointer five minutes into the game.
