Florida Gulf Coast ties NCAA record for 3s

The Florida Gulf Coast University women's basketball team tied an NCAA Division I record making 21 3-pointers in a 106-27 win over Webber International on Monday night.
The Eagles tied New Mexico State's mark set on Feb. 23, 2002 against Louisiana Lafayette.
Amber Rechis hit six of the 3s as eight different players hit at least one for Florida Gulf Coast. The Eagles were 21 for 51 from behind the arc.
Last season, FGCU set an NCAA record with 55 3-pointers attempted against Mercer on Jan. 17, 2011. The Eagles made 20 3-pointers in an 87-52 win.

Coming into the game, the Eagles ranked second in the country behind DePaul with an average of 11 a game.
