Coates, No. 3 South Carolina rout Alabama 66-46

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) A'ja Wilson scored 16 points and Alaina Coates added 13 points and a career-high 18 rebounds to lead No. 3 South Carolina to a 66-46 victory over Alabama on Monday night.

The Gamecocks (26-1, 14-0 Southeastern Conference) continued their league stranglehold after already clinching a third straight regular season title. They dominated the boards and defensively.

South Carolina held Alabama (14-13, 3-11) to 28.6 percent shooting and outrebounded the Crimson Tide 58-31.

Coates picked up her league-leading 14th double-double. Wilson collected 10 rebounds. Tiffany Mitchell added 10 points and reached double digits with a layup off a behind-the-back pass from Bianca Cuevas midway through the fourth quarter.

Shaquera Wade led the Tide with 11 points.

The Gamecocks maintained a double-digit lead throughout the second half for their fourth straight win since falling to No. 1 Connecticut.
