Carter's free throw streak ends as TCU tops UTSA
Emily Carter scored 22 points but had her streak of consecutive free throws made snapped at 60 as No. 23 Texas Christian coasted to 83-59 victory over Texas-San Antonio on Friday night.
Helena Sverrisdottir added 18 points, and Starr Crawford had 17 points and 12 rebounds for the Horned Frogs (3-0).
Alysse Davis paced the Roadrunners (2-1) with 19 points and Amber Gregg added 13.
TCU pulled away in the last 10 minutes of the first half utilizing a zone defense that kept the Roadrunners from getting into any type of rhythm.
Carter, who had gone eight straight games without missing a free throw, hit her first 10 attempts from the stripe before missing Friday. She's tied for second all-time behind Richmond's Ginny Doyle, who hit 66 straight free throws from 1991-92.
