EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) Emily Cady scored 16 points, including a go-ahead three-point play with 30 seconds remaining and No. 19 Nebraska beat Michigan State 71-67 on Thursday night.

The victory was the first in Big Ten play for the Cornhuskers (11-3, 1-2) after dropping their first two conference games.

Michigan State's Aerial Powers had seven 3-pointers on her way to 35 points, a total that tied her for second-most behind a school-record 41 by Maxann Reese in 1999. Powers also had 11 rebounds.

Nebraska trailed 66-60 with three minutes left when it went on an 11-1 run to finish the game. Cady's layup and foul shot gave Nebraska a 69-67 lead and after Michigan State missed a 3-pointer, Hailie Sample closed out the scoring with a pair of free throws with five seconds left.
