Ohio State starters Jantel Lavender and Tayler Hill were in the lineup for the Buckeyes' NCAA first-round game against St. Francis (Pa.) despite becoming ill after eating turkey sandwiches in the team locker room a day earlier.
Two reserves, Emilee Harmon and Maria Moeller, an assistant coach and a team doctor were among those on Sunday who reported food poisioning-like symptoms overnight. All said they ate sandwiches following practice at Pitt's Petersen Events Center on Saturday.
Lavender is the three-time Big Ten Conference player of the year and the second-seeded Buckeyes' leading scorer with a 21.4 average. Hill averages 8.5 points.
