Taylor and Cambage help Australia beat Canada 80-67

NEWARK, Del. (AP) Penny Taylor scored 19 points and Liz Cambage added 16 to help Australia beat Canada 80-67 in an exhibition game Wednesday night at the University of Delaware.

Cambage helped Australia get off to a strong start, scoring eight of her points in the first quarter as the Australians built a 29-13 lead. The Opals led by 23 before Canada rallied to 69-65 midway through the fourth quarter using a fullcourt press.

Leilani Mitchell converted a three-point play with 4:10 left to end Canada's run and start an 11-0 burst to put the game away.

Shona Thorburn scored 13 to lead Canada.

Australia will face France and Canada will play the U.S. in Bridgeport, Connecticut on Friday night in the second game of this exhibition series. All four teams will conclude play at Madison Square Garden in New York on Sunday.
