LOS ANGELES (AP) The Los Angeles Sparks have signed last year's draft pick Jennifer Hamson, having waited until she finished her collegiate volleyball eligibility.
Hamson averaged 11.8 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.8 blocks in three years at BYU, where she played volleyball in the fall and basketball in the winter. The 6-foot-7 center became the first player in West Coast Conference history to be voted player of the year and defensive player of the year in 2013.
New Sparks coach Brian Agler said Monday that Hamson can impact a game defensively, and the team looks forward to developing her potential.
