Hill scores 10 of her 21 in 3rd overtime; Mystics beat Sun

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) Emma Meesseman scored 23 points, Tayler Hill had 10 of her 21 points in the third overtime and the Washington Mystics beat the Connecticut Sun 109-106 on Tuesday night.

It was the first three-overtime game in the WNBA since June 1, 2014.

Hill made a layup and was fouled with 36.8 seconds left in the final overtime, but missed the free throw as Washington had a 107-105 lead.

On the other end, Kelsey Bone grabbed an offensive rebound and was fouled with 19.6 seconds left for Connecticut. She made 1 of 2 free throws and Morgan Tuck grabbed the offensive rebound. After a timeout with 15.4 seconds left, Alex Bentley drove the lane but her layup was no good.

Hill hit two free throws with 2.9 seconds left and Jasmine Thomas' heave was off the mark.

Bria Hartley added 13 points for Washington (5-7), which is ranked ninth in the AP power poll.

Bentley finished with 31 points for 11th-ranked Connecticut (2-9).
