- CLEVELAND - After completing a historic comeback in the NBA Finals over Golden State, LeBron James and the Cavaliers return with the city's first championship since 1964.
- OAKMONT, Pa. - With his U.S. Open victory at Oakmont, Dustin Johnson can only hope it's the start of more to come in a career that had been undercut by bad luck in the majors.
- LAUSANNE, Switzerland - With Russia's track and field team already banned, Olympic leaders are looking at further anti-doping measures before the Rio de Janeiro Games.
- RIO DE JANEIRO - Seven weeks before the Olympics, a subway expansion aimed at carrying hundreds of thousands of athletes and fans is not done. Brazilian officials insist it still can be finished in time.
- Equipped with better ways to measure popularity and hesitant to rehash old story lines, many top Olympic sponsors are digging deeper into the roster of U.S. athletes for their marketing campaigns.
- LOS ANGELES - In a scintillating pitching matchup, Clayton Kershaw (10-1) of the Dodgers faces Stephen Strasburg (10-0) of the first-place Washington Nationals. Game starts 10 p.m.
- ARLINGTON, Texas - The AL's top two teams make up an April rainout when the Baltimore Orioles play the Rangers. Texas is coming off a road trip in which it won eight of 10. Game starts 8:05 p.m.
- PITTSBURGH - The first-place San Francisco Giants go for their ninth straight win, starting Madison Bumgarner (8-2, 1.91 ERA) against a Pirates team that has dropped 10 of 11. Game starts 7:05 p.m.
- NEW YORK - Ben Simmons could be the next Australian to go from Down Under to the very top of the NBA draft. He is among the many international players to be selected Thursday night.
- Two Euro 2016 games in France: Slovakia vs. England at Saint-Etienne (3 p.m.) and Russia vs. Wales at Toulouse (3 p.m.).
- HOUSTON - The U.S. usually heads into matches against soccer powers with an inferiority complex. Coach Jurgen Klinsmann is trying to change that for Tuesday night's Copa America semifinal against Argentina.
- Two College World Series games in Omaha, Neb.: UC Santa Barbara vs. Miami (2 p.m.) and Oklahoma State vs. Arizona (7 p.m.).
- SAN JOSE, Calif. - Just over a week after his team lost the Stanley Cup Final, San Jose Sharks general manager Doug Wilson prepares for the offseason.
- MINNEAPOLIS - The Sparks (11-0) host the Lynx (12-0) on Tuesday in the WNBA, the first time teams from the WNBA, NBA, NFL, MLB or NHL meet with each having 10-or-more wins, no losses and no ties.
