Uriah Hall wins third straight in first-round cut stoppage
Uriah Hall made quick work of short-notice opponent Ron Stallings on Sunday night in Boston. The TUF finalist landed a right hand early in the first round that dropped Stallings to the mat, and opened up what would be a fight-ending cut.
Early on, Hall missed with a couple of his signature spinning kick attacks. Soon, he countered with a right hand to the head, which dropped Stallings.
Hall hovered over "The Choir Boy" for a few moments before walking away and letting him stand up. Not long after, however, referee Herb Dean noticed that a huge cut had opened up over the left eye of Stallings, and called the ringside doctor in to take a look at it.
After he did, he told Dean to call the fight. The fight was officially ended at 3:47 of the first round.
A visibly upset Stallings protested the decision, but it was clearly the right one for his well-being. As for "Primetime," he said he enjoyed himself.
"I just decided to come out here and have fun," he said, post-fight.
The win is Hall's third straight in the UFC's middleweight division and bumps his overall record to 10-4. Stallings' career mark falls to 12-7.
In his post-fight speech, Hall also delivered a memorable message of peace to the crowd, which you can see in the video at the top.
