Unbeaten prospects Mirsad Bektic, Chas Skelly meet in Orlando
The UFC's upcoming Fight Night event in Orlando received a boost in prospect firepower when the promotion added a featherweight bout between two unbeaten prospects.
The promotion announced late on Thursday night that Mirsad Bektic would face Chas Skelly on the event.
Both fighters are products of well-regarded camps. Bektic trains at American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida, while Skelly is a member of Team Takedown along with newly minted UFC welterweight champion Johny Hendricks.
Bektic, who just turned 23 years old, has been fighting professionally since mid-2011, going 7-0 in that time. Six of his victories are via stoppage, and in his most recent bout, he knocked out Joe Pearson, a respected veteran who has competed in both PRIDE and the WEC.
Meanwhile, Skelly has compiled an 11-0 in his career, including a pair of submission victories over current UFC fighter Daniel Pineda. The 28-year-old Texan was a collegiate All-American in the NAIA.
UFC Fight Night in Orlando takes place on April 19 from the Amway Center, and features heavyweights Travis Browne vs. Fabricio Werdum in the main event.
