Updated Mar. 4, 2020 8:27 p.m. ET

In the final fight of his career, Urijah Faber got the perfect ending to a decorated career after he defeated Brad Pickett by unanimous decision at UFC Sacramento.

After struggling and losing his last two fights at UFC 199 and 203, Urijah Faber wanted to turn things around in his home state of California and end his career out on top with a win. He got exactly that in a dominant win over Brad Pickett by unanimous decision, earning a 30-26 scorecard from all three judges.

Faber challenged Pickett throughout the first round and forced him to miss early in the match. After looking solid for the first three minutes, Faber connected on a strong left hook, which knocked down Pickett. Though Pickett survived the first round, Faber controlled the match in the early goings on his feet and on the ground.

After exchanging leg shots in the first two minutes of the second round, Faber struck with a takedown, continuing to control the fight on the ground. With a minute left, Faber logged another takedown and added one more in the final seconds of the round. Faber’s streak of takedowns carried over early in the third round, giving him more momentum and confidence to start the final round.

Picket landed a strong takedown with a minute to go in the match. But it wasn’t enough as Faber got to go out in style. Faber controlled the fight, giving Pickett very few chances to show his offensive skills. He landed plenty of shots with his knee while in the clinch, eventually earning a win in the final match of his illustrious career.

“The California Kid” finishes his career with a record of 34-10, capturing championship belts at WEC, KOTC, and GC.

Meanwhile, for Pickett, he has lost five of his last six fights as he wanted to play spoiler against Faber in his final match in his home state. Pickett falls to 25-13 in his career.
