UFC 208 is the first pay-per-view of the year and the promotion will be crowning its first women’s featherweight champion. Here’s your home for the results.
UFC 208 is similar to 206 in the sense that it is being panned by fans for having a title fight for the sake of a title fight in the main event. However, we all know how that Canada card turned out. Let’s hope that some of that magic finds its way to Brooklyn.
In the main event, Holly Holm will look to achieve the rare feat of becoming a champion in two-weight classes in her career. This has only been accomplished by Conor McGregor, BJ Penn, and Randy Couture in the UFC.
To do so she’ll have to get by Germaine De Randamie, a fierce Muay Thai striker with limited MMA experience. De Randamie has a ridiculous 37-0 Muay Thai Kickboxing record and multiple titles to her name. She is currently on a two-fight win streak in the Octagon.
Also on the card, Anderson Silva tries to rekindle his old self against the aggressive and powerful Derek Brunson.
