UFC Welterweight Title Fight - Georges St-Pierre vs Carlos Condit
Round 5:
Right hand connects from Condit. Counter from GSP is a leg kick. Leg kick from GSP and Condit throws some kick combos of his own. Big spinning back kick to the body by Carlos Condit. GSP shoots for a takedown, but Condit fights his way free and back to his feet. Condit comes right down the pipe with strikes. Head kick from Condit is blocked, but he follows it with a combo that sees a left hook find a home. Jab from GSP. Takedown from GSP with two and a half minutes to go in the fight. St-Pierre is working for mount. Condit gives up his back to get free, but it doesn't work. GSP is able to stop Condit from rolling through and takes top position. The fight ends with GSP raining heavy strikes as Condit slams GSP in the head with elbows.

Round 4:
Leg kick, head kick from Condit. There's a huge target on GSP's face now. Another head kick lands from Condit and GSP counters with one of his own. GSP gets a takedown into side control, but quickly works his way to full guard. Big shots from both fighters - GSP is taking it to Condit. Condit has the triangle attempt, but GSP is able to power out because both men are slippery. It's blood, people. Carlos Condit is back on his feet. As GSP tries to get him to the mat, Condit gets on top. GSP quickly sweeps free and ends up back on top. GSP's grappling is ruling the day...once again. The buzzer sounds with GSP in control.

Round 3:
Inside leg kick from GSP. Spinning wheel kick misses from Condit. Two punch combo, a kick and another punch put GSP onto his backside. GSP eats a ton of damage on his back. GSP continues to take big elbows to the face - there's a mess of swelling over the eyes that he created from the elbows. GSP gets back to his feet. GSP shoots in for another takedown and gets it. GSP looks to be attacking in an effort to clear his senses. He was clearly wobbly for a bit. Condit gets back to his feet, only to be dragged to his back again. Georges St-Pierre steps into Condit's half guard. Very tough round to score, but there was more damage from Condit so we'll got that way.

Round 2:
Leg kick from Condit misses. Punch-punch-kick misses from Condit. Jab from GSP. Big right hand from GSP finds Condit's face. Right hand from Condit. Head kick from GSP misses. Stiff jab from GSP. Knee to the body and a punch to GSP. Big right from GSP. Both fighters step in for strikes that miss. Spinning backfist from Condit finds nothing but air. GSP shoots in and takes Condit down into half guard. He's just hammering on Condit's cut. Both fighters strike at will. Condit rains long elbows onto the head of GSP, who maintains control. Condit is back to his feet and the two fighters are going at it to end the round.

Round 1:
The Bell Centre goes nuts for GSP as his music starts. Through intros, GSP holds a serious advantage with the crowd, which is to be expected. Solid movement from Condit to start. GSP lands a body punch. Front kick to the knee from Condit. Georges and Carlos both swing wild but it looks as if St-Pierre landed in the exchange. Two punch combination from Condit. Right hand misses from GSP. St-Pierre shoots for a takedown and gets it. Condit searches for an armbar. GSP gets to half guard and he's raining some blows. As GSP works for the can opener, Condit works for an armbar once again. Long strikes from both fighters as Condit cannot get the submission that he's working off his back for. Short elbow lands from GSP and the forehead of Condit is opened up.

Martin Kampmann vs Johny Hendricks
Round 1
Head kick from Kampmann is blocked. Hendricks is already searching for the big hook. As both fighters get set, Hendricks uncorks a HUGE left after he feinted a right hand and taps Kampmann's chin on the mat as Dan Miragliotta stops the bout.

Francis Carmont vs Tom Lawlor
Round 3:
Right hand finds a home for Lawlor. Both fighters are pressed against the cage as Lawlor works for a takedown once again. Right hook from Carmont and an inside leg kick. Lawlor gets Carmont to the cage again and scores with knees to the thighs. Right hook connects from Lawlor. Front kick from Carmont finds a home. Foot stomps from Tom Lawlor, but Francis Carmont gets a takedown as the buzzer sounds.

Kick to open from Carmont. Lawlor eats a big knee to the body. Left hand down the pipe from Lawlor. Three punch combo on the break from Carmont. Right hand counter from Lawlor. Left hook by Carmont in the clinch, but Lawlor finally gets a takedown. Carmont gets back to his feet, but eats two knees to the head for his troubles. Another takedown from Lawlor. Lawlor takes side control and grabs a guillotine. Again, the buzzer sounds with Lawlor letting Carmont out of the choke.

Touch of gloves by both fighters. Lawlor gets Carmont against the cage and the two grapple for supremacy. Dirty boxing in the clinch from Lawlor. Two body kicks from Carmont. Lawlor winces. Overhand right from Lawlor leads to a takedown attempt. Carmont goes for a standing kimura, but the two separate. Left hand from Lawlor as the two fighters separate. Body kick from Carmont. Lawlor gets a tight guillotine, but Carmont is able to get out as the bell sounds.

Mark Bocek vs Rafael Dos Anjos
Round 3:
Bocek comes out punching, knowing he needs a finish here in the third round. Front kick from dos Anjos does not land. Dos Anjos wraps him up and goes for the takedown but Bocek reverses it and gains control. Bocek starts looking for a takedown of his own. Dos Anjos ends up on top. They stand up and Bocek grabs for a kimura but he is way out of position. They break and dos Anjos goes back to relying on his kicks. Flying knee for dos Anjos that may have partially gotten through. Jab for Bocek connects. Bocek goes for a takedown but dos Anjos squirms away. Bocek gets him up against the cage and begins to grind him. Dos Anjos pounds away on his head to defend against the single leg. Referee Yves Lavigne breaks them up. Bocek continues to look for the takedown even though there are only 30 seconds left. Dos Anjos lands one more uppercut for good meansure right before the final bell sounds.

Round 2:
Bocek lands a kick square on the cup of dos Anjos. The action is halted for a few minutes. They wrestle their way to the mat quickly. Dos Anjos gains control and starts looking for a submission. Bocek is holding on to the hips of dos Anjos. Bocek is bloodied up now. They work their way to their feet and break. They come together and exchange punches. Leg kick for Bocek. Dos Anjos stuffs another takedown and throws a combo of punches. Then he gets a takedown and begins to work towards taking Bocek's back. Dos Anjos begins to pound away and Bocek seemingly has no answer for him. Dos Anjos keeps working for the back. Bocek stands up but gets slammed by dos Anjos. Short elbow from dos Anjos. It's all dos Anjos.

Dos Anjos hits a crisp uppercut to start. Bocek backs him up against the cage, they break. Dos Anjos throws a kick. Leg kick for dos Anjos. Body kick lands for him as well. Bocek ties him up against the cage and throws a few knees. Dos Anjos tries to break the hold by aiming his elbows at the head of Bocek. Big knee for dos Anjos. Dos Anjos whiffs on a leg kick. Another killer uppercut for dos Anjos. Front kick for dos Anjos. Knee from the clinch for Bocek. Bocek goes for another takedown but it is stuffed. Kick from dos Anjos is blocked. Another takedown attempt for Bocek is blocked. Bocek has him up against the cage and the two combatants exchange insignificant blows. Leg kick for dos Anjos. That is the end of a very close round.

Mark Hominick vs Pablo Garza
Round 3:
Head kick from Garza to start. Hominick goes forward with some boxing which is probably where he wants to keep the fight. He backs Garza up with a sharp combo. Garza bull rushes him and scores a takedown and we are right back to where we were in the last round. Hominick is kind of obsessed with the omaplanta right now and Garza takes advantage by landing more shots. Hominick needs this fight badly and can't manage to take control. Garza is putting on a clinic as far as staying on top and landing ground and pound is concerned. The action is fairly slow here in the final frame. Hominick gets to his feet with a minute left, goes for the omaplata and Garza smothers here. Garza is in the half guard and even though Rogan is imploring him to go for the sweep Hominick can't do it. Garza keeps throwing punches. Hominick has one last submission attempt but the round and the fight comes to an end.

Round 2:
Garza charges out and throws a wild spinning back kick that comes nowhere close. Garza goes for the takedown, they grapple and eventually Garza ends up on top in Hominick's guard. Garza slides an elbow through that lands. The action stalls as Hominick tries to slow things down. Garza is landing a few shots to the body but nothing of note. Hominick looks for some sort of armbar but nothing doing. Garza powers through some more elbows, Hominick's blood splatters across the mat. Garza postures up and begins to pound Hominick with punches. Hominick now has a cut under both of his eyes. Garza continues to dominate this round. Hominick is almost able to escape but cannot. Garza goes back into his guard and the beatdown carries on. Garza stays on top and has all sorts of success with side elbows to the face. The round ends.

Round 1:
Hominick is moving very well. His footwork is keeping him out of a lot of trouble. Garza is doing what he can and seems to be in no danger early. Hominick keeps pressing the action and seems to have control until Garza charges forward forcing Hominick against the cage. Garza forces the take down but it's Hominick that lands on top. Regardless, Garza and taken control and comes scary close to securing an arm bar from underneath. Hominick manages to escape and he is angry. The fists seem to have a little extra snap now and he catches Garza with a hard right. Garza is gone. He goes down to the canvas and is within an inch of blacking out, but Hominick can't finish, Garza comes to and finds his way to his feet and returns the favor rocking Homickin and cutting him under his eye. Hominick is clearly having vision trouble and he eats quite a few more blows in a fight to survive to teh end of the round.

Patrick Cote vs Alessio Sakara
Round 1:
Patrick Cote is coming off of a loss against Cung Le and you can sense that he does not want to disappoint his hometown Montreal crowd. Cote rocks Sakara early and Sakara is dazed. Cote realizes this and spends the next 30 seconds brutalizing Sakara with fists and occasional knees. The crowd is going wild and just when you think Sakara is done, Sakara launches a knee that stop Cote in his tracks. The bout has flipped. Everything is all Sakara as fists fly and Cote is backed up against the cage. Sakara lands multiple solid elbows that drop Cote to his knees, clutching Sakara's leg for some cover. Sakara bullies Cote with a series of hammer fists many of which land on the back of Cote's head. Cote goes out cold and the fight is stopped. The crowd sees the replay of the hammer fists and rains boos upon the Octagon.
Official Result: Cote wins via disqualification (strikes to back of head) at 1:26 in Round 1
Cyrille Diabate vs Chad Griggs
Round 1:
In the opening 15 seconds, Griggs chases Diabate around the Octagon like a mad ex-girlfriend. After that, Diabate lands a stunner of a blow and Griggs is flat on the canvas. Diabate lands a few elbows and moves into side control. Griggs slips out but Diabate slams him back down. The blood flow in the ring is insane. To add punishment, when Grigs stands up, Diabate manages him in the clutch and clocks Griggs with a painful knee. Griggs has a brief chance at a choke of his own, but Diabate flips it, later taking Griggs' back and choking Griggs out for the submission victory. Ladies and gents, that's what a 39 year-old can do!

Sam Stout vs John Makdessi
Round 3:
Early in the final round, Makdessi has started to get some fancy feet. He's throwing some high kicks and land a hook kick. Despite any of this, Stout just keeps coming. It's like a bull in the ring, except unlike nicknames, Stout is the bull. Stout charges, and Makdessi lifts the cape to reveal his fist. Halfway through, Makdessi keeps proving that he has this fight under control. He blocks Stout's jab with his right hand and then lands a left of this own. 30 seconds to got, and an inside leg kick from Makdessi lands a little too high sends Stout to grab his crotch. Stout returns to action quickly to throw a final set of punches, but unless his high punch count is rewarded, this is definitely too little, too late.

Round 2:
Stout is throwing a ridiculous number of punches but is really landing very few of them. Firas Zahabi or Montreal's Tristar Gym told Makdessi in the corner to do the exact same this as round one but to circle the other way. Makdessi is definitely remaining quite evasive, but again, Makdessi needs to come forward more. The stats pop up and Makdessi has landed nearly 20 more shots that Stout. Which is crazy when you consider Stout's activity level. This fight has yet to visit the ground with one takedown being averted earlier this round. This may not be a traditionally entertaining fight, but it is a masterclass when you really see how well Makdessi is countering and controlling this fight. Stout tries for his 3rd takedown and fails again. Makdessi doesn't even seem to be fazed. Still, never trust the judges.

Round 1:
It's a Canadian Civil War between Stout and Makdessi. Makdessi is working the southpaw, while Stout is just being plain aggressive. Lots of energy early in this one. Stout leading with a left jab followed by a right hook, Makdessi finding some great counter opportunities landing a few rights on Stout's jaw. Stout is relentless still seeking jabs and mixing in some leg kicks, and eventually he charges forward looking for a potential take down, but he aborts before shooting for a leg. Makdessi has found a lot of solid counters, but he isn't progressing any of the action. Unless he starts dealing damage, he's putting way too much faith in the judges' hands. Makdessi might know this as during the final minute he throws a spinning back kick and a few more solid jabs at the end of the round.

Antonio Carvalho vs Rodrigo Damm
Round 3:
Damm, again is maintaining the center of the Octagon and is coming out aggressive. As much as we gave Damm the second round, anything that's even close will have to go to Carvalho for making Damm's left leg swell up like a blueberry. Damm launches forward with a few jabs and a hook and Carvalho loses his mouthpiece. They clean it off and put it back in and Damm comes forward again, definitely putting the pressure on. Carvalho handles the pressure well, taking only moderate damage and continuing his barrage of kicks to the leg and head. In the closing minute, Damm needs to make a sprint if he wants to win this fight. He flails a wild left hook that is blocked and at the end, it's Carvalho that closes out the round with some inside punches of his own. This is going to be one of those decision, half of the crowd is going to hate. Carvalho won the 15 minutes, but Damm very well may have won 2 of the 3 rounds...

Round 2:
Early on Damm has a chance to flip the momentum of this fight and Carvalho lands on his back. Damm pounces and is ready to employ some jiu-jitsu, but Damm leaks a small opening and Carvalho squeaks out fast as lightning. The remainder of the round is quite slow and the crowd is not pleased. Carvalho spends his time continuing with the leg kicks and Damm keeps looking for punch combinations. Damm is landing a few more and with his early opportunity in this round, he may be able to even this bout. A flurry of headshots by each fighter at the finish is about even, but the only piece of excitement the crowd gets.

Round 1:
Anderson Silva is cornering Rodrigo Damm, but Silva is not in the cage. Both fighters open with light jabs trying to find the distance. Damm launches forward with a heavy right, but misses, If he keep throwing like that someone is going to get hurt. Carvalho seems to be looking for counter opportunities and has been landing a few good inside leg kicks. Damm's leg is starting to swell a bit, but he's not adjusting his stance. Yet. Carvalho keeps up the kicks and it is clear that this damage is going to add up. In the closing minutes, Damm has slowed down and Carvalho seems to be looking for a few high kicks to deal some bigger damage. Mind you, the damage he has done so far is more than sufficient to win this round.

Matthew Riddle vs John Maguire
Round 3:
We enter the decisive round and Maguire surely needs to make a big move, but Riddle is more game than he has been in the previous rounds. Maguire progresses in thowing heavy jabs and landing a few, but Riddle is taking them well. Halfway through the round MAguire attempts another takedown, but Riddle stuffs it. Ridlle then punishes Maguire with a knee to the midsections and Maguire looks hurt. Maguire keeps looking for a judo trip but fails to find it. The fighters break from their clutch and Maguire with 15 seconds to go grabs a last ditch effort guillotine. Riddle defends it but Maguire lands a knee bringing Riddle to the canvas just as teh final horn sounds.

Round 2:
Round 2 starts about the same as round 1, but this time Maguire employs the leg kick and lands a nice one. Riddle forces Maguire against the cage. After a short while the fighters move back to the center of the Octagon and Riddle manages to land a series of punches. Maguire falls backwards adn after some time, Riddle risks joining Maguire on the ground engaging Maguire in full guard. After about 20 seconds, Riddle abandons this, standing up to kick Maguire in the thighs. This slows and Yves Lavigne forces Maguire to stand up. Maguire quickly looks to take the fight to the canvas again, but fails. Maguire later tries to grasp a guillotine choke, but Riddle protects himself with a hand in. The fighters break one more time but this time Riddle launches into a flurry of punches. Riddle riles up the crowd and the round ends.

Round 1:
Yves Lavigne brings the fighters to the center and we are off. Riddle has never fought outside of the UFC. Every single pro fight has been in the Octagon. Both he and Maguire start a little slow, but Riddle starts throwing some jabs and catches Maguire a little off guard. The two continue to face-off in the center looking for an opening, but no one being overly aggressive. Riddle is keeping Maguire at bay with his reach and seems to be happy keeping this fight standing. Neither man has gone for a takedown. Riddle delivers an outer leg kick and Maguire catches it. Riddle has to spin to get his leg back. More than halfway through the round and Riddle is still the aggressor. He leads with a few more punches and follows with another kick that Maguire again catches. Riddle is forced into more acrobatics to break free. A minute later, Maguire catches another of Riddle's kicks, but this time he rushes forward and plants Riddle against the cage. Unfortunately for Maguire he doesn't deal much damage and Riddle will likely get this round for pressing the action.

Ivan Menjivar vs Azamot Gashimov
Round 1:
We keep the night in Montreal rolling with Menjivar vs. Gashimov. Menjivar is maintaining the center of the Octagon well but Gashimov shoots for the one-legged take down early and gets it. He lands in Menjivar's full guard. Menjivar clutches Gashimov tight and keeps shifting his hips gunning for an inverted armbar, but no success. Very close though. Gashimov maintains top position and even attempts a ezekiel choke, but again, little success. halfway through the round the activity slows and Gashimov gets lazy. Menjiivar decides to give the armbar another try and BOOM! Nails it. Russian-style. That arm is not going to be the same for a long while despite the quick tap.
