Silva vs OSP rebooked, McDaniel vs Troeng all added to UFC 171 in Dallas
Two new fights have been added to the upcoming UFC 171 card in Dallas with Thiago Silva meeting former Strikeforce fighter Ovince St-Preux while Ultimate Fighter cast mates Bubba McDaniel and Tor Troeng meet in a middleweight bout.
First up is the light heavyweight showdown between Silva and St-Preux, which is a rescheduled bout after the two competitors were first linked to the UFC Fight Night card in Atlanta on Jan 15. Just after the announcement for the fight was made, Silva dropped out of the bout for undisclosed reasons.
Whatever caused the delay, Atlanta's loss is Dallas' gain because now Silva and St-Preux — both two fight win streaks in the UFC — will face off at UFC 171 instead.
Also added to the card is a middleweight bout between two former Ultimate Fighter season 17 cast members with Bubba McDaniel taking on Tor Troeng on the undercard.
McDaniel is coming back from his first UFC loss as he fell to defeat to Brad Tavares in September while Troeng looks to get back to his winning ways after losing to Rafael Natal in a barnburner of a fight from September.
The final bout and card order for UFC 171 is still being put together by matchmakers following the announcement of the main event pitting UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones against Glover Teixeira.
