Sarah Kaufman vs. Alexis Davis on tap for UFC 186
Sarah Kaufman and Alexis Davis will meet for the third time in an all-Canadian showdown at UFC 186 in Montreal on April 25.
UFC officials announced the new pairing on Tuesday.
The two top five ranked women's bantamweights met on two previous occasions in different promotions with Kaufman coming out both times.
The last fight in 2012 is regarded as one of the best women's MMA fights of all time as Kaufman got the edge on Davis in the end of an absolute thriller over three rounds.
Now they will battle it out again in a featured bout at UFC 186.
Kaufman is returning to action after a year away from the sport while trying to land fights with several different opponents only to get rebuffed time and time again. Most recently, Kaufman took aim at former Strikeforce champion Miesha Tate, who she defeated in 2009, but couldn't get the No. 2 ranked bantamweight to respond to her challenges.
She faces Davis in April after her fellow Canadian dropped a title fight against champion Ronda Rousey in her last trip to the Octagon in July 2014.
Prior to the fight with Rousey, Davis was undefeated in the UFC and on a five-fight win streak.
