Rose Namajunas vs. Nina Ansaroff added to UFC 187
Former Ultimate Fighter finalist Rose Namajunas will get back in action at UFC 187 as she faces American Top Team fighter Nina Ansaroff in a bout added to the May 23 card in Las Vegas.
UFC officials confirmed the fight on Wednesday.
Namajunas (2-2) made a quick rise up the women's rankings when she ran roughshod through the top fighters in the world as part of the reality show that saw the first UFC strawweight champion crowned.
Namajunas picked up wins over Alex Chambers, Joanne Calderwood and Randa Markos before finally falling to current champion Carla Esparza in the finals in December. Now she looks to climb back up the ladder as she officially kicks off her UFC career in May.
Ansaroff (6-4) is still searching for her first UFC win after dropping her debut bout to Juliana de Lima in November.
The Florida based strawweight is still regarded as a top prospect in the division, who entered the UFC after a stunning knockout of veteran fighter Munah Holland.
Namajunas vs. Ansaroff is the latest bout added to the UFC 187 fight card, which is headlined by two title bouts as Jon Jones faces Anthony Johnson in the main event while Chris Weidman takes on Vitor Belfort in the middleweight co-main event.
