Max Holloway vs. Charles Oliveira headlines UFC card in Saskatoon, Canada
The UFC will land in central Canada later this year with a featherweight main event pitting two of the hottest fighters in the division against each other as Max Holloway takes on Charles Oliveira on August 23 from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
UFC officials announced the new card and main event on Monday.
Since losing a decision to Conor McGregor in 2013, Holloway has become one of the top featherweights in the sport while reeling off six consecutive victories while climbing up the ranks of the featherweight division.
Most recently, Holloway dispatched of Cub Swanson in his most impressive win to date with a third round guillotine choke submission while putting away the former top ranked contender at 145 pounds.
Holloway will look to keep his streak alive as he faces another fighter currently tearing through the weight class.
Oliveira has won four fights in a row with three of them ending by way of submission.
During his current win streak, Oliveira has taken out Andy Ogle, Hatsu Hioki, Jeremy Stephens and then put away Nik Lentz at last month's UFC Fight Night card from Brazil.
Holloway and Oliveira will face off with the winner likely no more than a fight away from title contention as the headline the UFC's return to Canada in August.
More fights for the Saskatoon card will be announced in the coming weeks.
