Josh Thomson not interested in Nate Diaz rematch but he'd take the easy payday

Josh Thomson knew exactly what he was signing up for the day he inked a contract to face Nate Diaz in his UFC return earlier this year.

The Diaz brothers are notorious for not only trash talking in the cage, but also holding a grudge long after a fight is finished.  It gets even worse if either Nick or Nate Diaz lose because that opponent's name is bound to end up on an eternal loop any time either fighter from Stockton has a microphone in front of their face.

Most recently, Nate Diaz called out Thomson yet again after his win over Gray Maynard at The Ultimate Fighter 18 finale.  It was just the latest moment where Diaz expressed a desire to get another shot at Thomson, who knocked him out cold with a head kick and punches in the second round of their fight back in April.

Thomson doesn't sweat the typical Diaz routine of fighter call outs, nor does he pay attention to the former Ultimate Fighter winner trying to find fault in the knockout or how the fight was stopped.

"I really don't care," Thomson said about Diaz at a recent UFC fan Q&A.  "I don't let things like that bother me.  To be honest, his corner threw in the towel so it doesn't really matter what he says.  His corner gave up for him.  That to me is good enough.  You're not even allowed to throw the towel in, in California.  It says to notify the referee, let the referee stop the fight so obviously I did something right."

With such a dramatic finish in their first fight, Thomson doesn't really see a reason to face Diaz again but he'll leave the matchmaking duties up to the UFC.  Thomson would much rather worry about former UFC champion Benson Henderson, who he faces in the main event of UFC on FOX 10 in January.

"Not really but those are the things I don't make the decisions on," Thomson said about a possible rematch.  "Let the UFC make the decisions on those, I've got other things to worry about right now.  I've got to worry about Benson (Henderson).  He poses a lot of threats to me."

Later in the 45 minute conversation with Thomson, he was asked about what happens after the fight with Henderson and this time it was 'The Punk' throwing a jab Diaz's way.  Never let it be said, Thomson can't give as good as he gets.

"As far as who I want to fight after that I don't really get to pick and choose," Thomson said.  "Maybe Nate again - I could use the payday."
