Hector Urbina chokes out Edgar Garcia in UFC 180 main card opener
MEXICO CITY -- Hector Urbina was pretty fired up to be fighting in Mexico. He let it show in the Octagon.
Urbina choked out Edgar Garcia with a guillotine at 3:38 of the first round in the main card opener of UFC 180 on Saturday night in Arena Ciudad de Mexico. It is the UFC's first trip to the country.
Garcia took Urbina down and got his back early on, but Urbina reversed and sought out Garcia's neck for the finish.
Urbina (17-8) competed on The Ultimate Fighter 19, but was not signed by the UFC. He did not compete at the finale in July. This was his return fight and he made the most of it.
Garcia (14-4) was also making his return to the UFC after four straight wins outside the organization. He'll likely get another chance in the middleweight division.
