Francisco Trinaldo dismantles Yancy Medeiros at UFC 198

May 14, 2016

If Francisco Trinaldo wanted to prove he deserved to be ranked in the UFC lightweight top 15 ... mission accomplished.

The 37-year-old Brazilian worked opponent Yancy Medeiros over three rounds en route to a unanimous decision (29-26, 30-27, 30-26) victory at UFC 198 on Saturday for his sisth straight win inside the Octagon.

Trinaldo got the action started early, pepping Medeiros with a right jab before unloading with several vicious overhand lefts that wobbled the Hawaiian multiple times over the first two rounds.

The third was much of the same, with Trinaldo dominating the action with combinations. Medeiros somehow survived onslaught and made it to the final bell despite appearing out on his feet late in the final round.

Trinaldo improved to 20-4 overall and recorded his 10th win inside the Octagon. Medeiros falls to 12-4, losing back-to-back fights for the first time in his UFC career.
