Derek Brunson falls ill, fight with Ed Herman scrapped

The UFC Fight Night on FOX preliminary card is down one bout after Derek Brunson suffered a stomach illness on Saturday forcing him to withdraw from his scheduled bout against Ed Herman.

The fight was expected for the FOX Sports 1 prelims, but now the bout has been completely scrapped due to Brunson's illness.

According to UFC president Dana White, Brunson got food poisoning after eating this morning.

Since coming to the UFC, Brunson has amassed a 3-1 record overall and was coming off a win over Lorenz Larkin in his last fight.

Herman was returning from a win over Rafael Natal in May, but will now likely have to wait until 2015 to get back in the Octagon.

UFC Fight Night on FOX: dos Santos vs. Miocic will move forward with 12 total bouts on the card.
