Danny Castillo vs. Isaac Vallie-Flagg Agreed for UFC 172 in Baltimore
Two lightweights looking to rebound from recent losses will square off at UFC 172 in Baltimore when Team Alpha Male fighter Danny Castillo meets Isaac Vallie-Flagg on the undercard for the upcoming event.
The fighters have verbally agreed to the matchup with bout agreements set to be issued shortly.
Danny Castillo (16-6) was able to live his dream during his last fight by competing in his hometown of Sacramento during the FOX UFC Saturday event there in December. Unfortunately after a stellar first round agaisnt opponent Edson Barboza, Castillo faded a bit in the final 10 minutes of the fight and ended up losing a majority decision.
Now the former WEC fighter will hope to erase the bad taste of that fight from his mouth when he returns in April to face a Greg Jackson trained fighter also searching for redemption.
Isaac Vallie-Flagg (14-4-1) had been itching for a fight after injuries and timing kept him out of the Octagon for almost a year after his successful debut where he picked up a win over Yves Edwards. Vallie-Flagg didn't find the same kind of performance in his second bout, however, as he dropped a decision to newcomer Elias Silverio.
Now the New Mexico based fighter will hope to return to his winning ways when he faces Castillo in an undercard bout at UFC 172. The show is headlined by UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones as he faces top ranked contneder Glover Teixeira in the main event.
