Bryan Caraway faces Lucas Martins at UFC 170 in February

Published Dec. 29, 2013 12:00 a.m. ET

Following a stint as assistant coach on The Ultimate Fighter 18, Bryan Caraway will get the focus back on his own career as he returns at UFC 170 to take on Brazilian Lucas Martins.

UFC officials announced the bout late Monday night.

Caraway (18-6) was last seen in April where he picked up a submission win over Johnny Bedford at UFC 159. Following that fight, Caraway turned his attention to coaching duties alongside his longtime girlfriend Miesha Tate as they led a team of bantamweight hopefuls on The Ultimate Fighter.

Now Caraway will look to build on his last win as well as a 4-1 record overall in his last five fights when he returns in February.

Opposing Caraway in Las Vegas will be Lucas Martins (14-1), who looks to build on back-to-back wins since making a gradual move down to the bantamweight division. Martins only loss since coming to the UFC was a TKO defeat at the hands of Edson Barboza while competing as a lightweight.

Now Martins has dropped all the way down to 135 pounds where he will face Caraway at the upcoming show in Las Vegas.

The two fighters will meet at UFC 170 on Feb 22 at a card headlined by women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey when she faces fellow Olympian Sara McMann in the main event.
