Batter up: Canseco wants to fight CM Punk in UFC

Great, so it's come to this. Ever since the UFC signed former WWE champion Phil "CM Punk" Brooks to fight, other celebrities are coming out of the woodwork to challenge the pro-wrestler to fight in the world's top MMA promotion. First, "Power Ranger" Jason David Frank made it known that he wanted a fight against Brooks in the UFC.

Now, former Major League Baseball All-Star Jose Canseco says he can "beat the crap out of CM Punk." Well, the 50 year-old slugger Tweeted it, to be precise:

Before you laugh too hard, let's all remember that unlike Brooks, Canseco actually has MMA experience. Back in 2009, he fought Hong-man Choi in the Dream event.

The K-1 veteran beat Canseco by first-round submission, but the baseball player landed a number of good kicks and overhand rights before getting tripped up, falling down and eating a ton of ground strikes from the "Techno Goliath." As Brooks admitted earlier this week, he is still a novice at Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and has never done any real MMA sparring.

In our book, that would make Canseco at least a slight favorite against Brooks, despite being about 15 years older than him. As for the 41-year-old Jason David Frank — well, that dude has four MMA fights and has won every one by either TKO or submission.

So yeah, the Green Power Ranger is way out of CM Punk's league at this point. Who would you rather see Phil Brooks fight in the UFC: Jose Canseco or Jason David Frank?

Do you have any suggestions for another celebrity to square up with Punk in the UFC (the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu purple belt Ashton Kutcher, perhaps)? Let us know in the comments section and on Twitter!
