Zakopalova makes Czechs for Fed Cup semi at Italy

The defending champion Czech Republic has added Klara Zakopalova for the Fed Cup semifinal against Italy next week.

Captain Petr Pala says Zakopalova will vie for the singles berths with Petra Kvitova and Lucie Safarova.

Zakopalova is at a career-high 21st ranking.

Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka are the doubles team.

Pala will narrow his team to four in Italy, for the tie on April 20-21 on an outdoor clay-court in Palermo.

Italy is the last team to beat the Czechs, in the 2010 semis. The Czechs won their last encounter 4-1 in the 2012 semis.
