Why this controversy isn't just insulting to women's tennis, it's completely dumb

The remarks about women's tennis that Raymond Moore made and Serena Williams spoke out against weren't just offensive, they were flat-out wrong, Colin Cowherd said this week on "The Herd."

The Indian Wells tournament director caused a firestorm — and ultimately lost his job — over several sexist comments he made about women's tennis, including "If I was a lady player, I'd go down every night on my knees and thank God that Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal were born, because they have carried this sport. They really have."

To which Cowherd replies, What country is that guy living in?

"The American women are carrying tennis in this country. The men are in the tank," Cowherd said on "The Herd" this week, citing Serena's 15 Grand Slam titles since 2004 and noting that American men have zero in that span.

ZERO!

"When you watch Wimbledon, if it's not for Serena or an American woman, we have no shot," Cowherd added.
