Serena Williams wags finger at Wimbledon crowd: 'Don't try me'

Serena Williams delivered a strong message to the Wimbledon crowd during her third-round match at the tournament Friday.

During the third set of her comeback win over hometown player Heather Watson, Williams was down 5-4 and leading 30-15 as she tried to get a break to get back on serve. Serena won a long rally, but was thrown off when the crowd cheered after she hit a volley that barely caught the baseline.

After winning the point that made it 40-15 in her favor, Williams said something to the chair umpire about trying to have the fans keep it down during the points. The crowd booed Williams for complaining, so she responded with a finger wag and a warning, “Don’t try me.”

Williams got the break and won the next two games to beat 23-year-old Watson 6-2, 4-6, 7-5. It was an excellent comeback for Williams, who was down 3-0 and 4-1 in the third set. She advanced to face her sister Venus in the fourth round.

If she really wants to tick off the Wimbledon crowd, maybe she should Crip walk after her next match.
