Petkovic wins after Bartoli retires

Andrea Petkovic of Germany won her second career title after her Marion Bartoli retired while trailing 6-4, 1-0 Saturday in the final of the Strasbourg International.
The top-seeded Bartoli asked for a medical timeout at 5-4 to have her left thigh taped, but a few games later she decided to stop.
Petkovic double-faulted to drop the opening game, but she won five straight games to lead 5-2. The second-seeded German hit a drop shot to take the first set.
Bartoli may be a doubt for the French Open, which begins on Sunday.
''I didn't want to win this way at all,'' Petkovic said. ''I hope Marion will be fine for the French Open because she plays very well, and I think she could play very well in Paris.''
Petkovic won her first title in 2009 in Bad Gastein, Austria. Past winners of this event include Lindsay Davenport, Steffi Graf, Jennifer Capriati and Maria Sharapova.
