Montanes, Chardy in Romania quarters

Seeded players Albert Montanes, Juan Ignacio Chela and Jeremy Chardy advanced to the quarterfinals of the BCR Open Romania with straight-set victories Wednesday.

The top-seeded Montanes defeated Tobias Kamke of Germany 6-4, 6-4. The Spaniard will meet the eighth-seeded Chardy after the Frenchman beat Simone Vagnozzi of Italy 6-2, 6-4.

Chela, seeded No. 4, routed Simon Greul of Germany 6-1, 6-0. The Argentine will play Bjorn Phau of Germany, who downed Adrian Ungur of Romania 6-2, 6-4.
