Errani, Petkovic reach Generali Ladies quarters

Sara Errani and Andrea Petkovic won in straight sets Wednesday to advance to the quarterfinals of the Generali Ladies.

Errani saved nine of 11 break points in defeating qualifier Renata Voracova 6-2, 6-2, while Petkovic routed Anne Keothavong 6-0, 6-3.

The 36th-ranked Petkovic won the first 11 games before Keothavong, who was out for three weeks with a hip injury, avoided a whitewash.

Fifth-seeded Petra Kvitova beat Anastasia Rodionova after the Australian pulled out with a muscle strain in her left leg while trailing 6-2, 1-0.
