Steve Darcis beat Jan Hajek 7-6 (6), 1-6, 6-4 on Sunday to clinch a consolation point for Belgium in a 4-1 loss to the Czech Republic in the Davis Cup.

The Czech Republic had already sealed an insurmountable 3-0 lead on Saturday in the World Group first round contest and the points were shared in Sunday's singles matches.

Lukas Dlouhy won the last match of the five, defeating Belgium's Christophe Rochus 1-6, 7-6 (3), 7-5.

The winner of the tie will meet either Chile or Israel in the quarterfinals in July.
