Yakubu moved to Ewood Park on transfer deadline day after a four-year injury-hit stay at Everton. He rewarded Steve Kean's faith in him by notching a brace on his debut in the thrilling 4-3 win over Arsenal on Saturday as Rovers secured their first league victory of the season to climb off the bottom of the table. Yakubu told The Sun: "I always believe I can score whatever team I play for, so to have the opportunity to play for Blackburn is a great feeling. "To be scoring again back in the Premier League is great and for me to score two against Arsenal and to get a win is a great feeling. "I have nothing to prove to anyone - I know I can score. "It is just unfortunate that I did not get the chance to do that at Everton where I did not play for almost a year because of a serious injury. "Thankfully, Steve Kean has given me the chance to play week in and week out back in the Premier League. "We're all really happy to finally get three points. We have stuck together and worked really hard all week and if we keep working we'll be fine."
