The World Cup trophy was on display and there was a festive atmosphere when Italy trained Thursday in the city rocked by a devastating earthquake this spring.
Preparing for its friendly with the Netherlands in nearby Pescara on Saturday, Gianluigi Buffon, Fabio Cannavaro and others drew about 3,000 fans to the Fattori stadium.
About 300 people were killed and 50,000 driven from their homes after the April 6 quake in the Abruzzo region.
After training, the team was due to lunch with relief workers and meet with local residents.
