Wolves appeal length of ban

Wolves have appealed against the length of the suspension given to Jamie O'Hara after he was sent off in Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Huddersfield.

The midfielder reacted angrily to a challenge from Terriers' substitute Keith Southern and subsequently pushed him, leading to his dismissal.

Wolves have accepted the decision itself but are unhappy with the mandatory three-match ban and have asked the FA for leniency in the matter.

Under FA rules, a club may appeal the severity of a suspension if they feel there are extenuating circumstances, with Wolves manager Dean Saunders convinced the ferocity of the challenge falls into this category.

O'Hara faces a minimum one-match ban even if the club are successful in their appeal, ruling the former Tottenham player out of Tuesday's crucial home game with Hull as they look to move out of the Championship relegation zone.
