The Gunners stayed on course for a first trophy since 2005 after they overturned a one-goal deficit with a 3-0 victory against Championship Ipswich at Emirates Stadium last night. Arsene Wenger maintains his young side are "hungry" for that first taste of success, and are odds-on to win the final against either Birmingham or West Ham next month. Arsenal are expected to progress through to the last 16 of the FA Cup when they host League One Huddersfield on Sunday, and remain very much in the Premier League title race despite Manchester United extending their lead to five points on Tuesday night. A glamour Champions League clash against Barcelona is also fast approaching. Wilshere, 19, believes once World Cup winner Cesc Fabregas gets his hands on some silverware for Arsenal, the latest generation of young Gunners will soon deliver more. "There is a hunger among the players to win something - it has been so long that we have almost forgotten what it is like," said the England midfielder. "We need to bring that back into the club - this is a big club and we need trophies. "Any trophy is a trophy and if we can win one in February, it will give us confidence for the rest of the season. "We know that if we win one, hopefully it will come along, and then it will open up more for us." Fabregas, however, maintains Arsenal must not take their focus off the other challenges ahead between now and stepping out at Wembley on February 27, a date which had originally been scheduled for a White Hart Lane showdown with north-London rivals Tottenham. On his personal Twitter account, the Gunners skipper said: "I know you are all happy to be at Wembley, but before that we have so many important games in front of us. "We can't lose focus at all now. Keep it up." Wenger maintains Arsenal are no closer to bringing in any fresh talent as the end of the January transfer window approaches. Chairman Peter Hill-Wood insists the Gunners will not pay a "silly figure" to land highly-rated Southampton teenager Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, although the 17-year-old remains keen on a switch to north London rather than the north west. With Thomas Vermaelen hopeful of recovery from his latest medical procedure to try to cure an Achilles problem which has sidelined the Belgian centre-back since the end of August, and Sebastien Squillaci expected to feature this weekend after his hamstring strain, the need for defensive cover is not as pressing. Arsenal have nevertheless been linked with a £12million move for Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Mamadou Sakho, although Wenger indicated he would prefer to bring in another defender on a temporary loan deal. Ipswich boss Paul Jewell, meanwhile, believes some of his own youngsters like highly-rated 17-year-old Connor Wickham - a reported target for Arsenal - can take a lot from their two matches against one of the best sides in the Premier League. "If he could go away and look at the Arsenal players and how they keep the ball - that is the level he has to get to," Jewell said. "If I was a young player I would think, 'What can I take from this game?' "The great thing about great players is they keep the game so simple and make it so easy. "I have told the players that we have to learn to make the game simpler."
