West Ham's Michail Antonio drove 2 hours to hand-deliver a signed shirt for charity

West Ham winger/outside back Michail Antonio's had a pretty good year so far. The former non-Leaguer signed a new contract with the Hammers in July, and he got handed his first ever call-up to the England team in September. For a man rounding into true stardom, one might expect him to start acting like a prima donna. That hasn't been the case for the 26-year-old so far, though.

Antonio had promised a signed shirt for a charity event staged by Libby Mae's Little Angels, but the day of the event came, and he hadn't come through on his pledge yet. On October 1st, Antonio played the full match for West Ham against Middlesbrough, and then realized the auction was that night. He could've just said "forget it" and gotten it to them the next day, but Michail's a different type of dude: he got in his car and drove two hours from London to Birmingham to make sure it was there on time.

Said Antonio: "I knew they wanted it for the auction that night, so I thought I’d drop it off after the game before carrying on to see my family."

It seems so simple, but... it's not. Antonio was under no obligation to drive to Birmingham, and it probably wasn't even necessary for him to get it there that night. But he made a promise, so he kept it. That's just solid human-ing right there.
