Werder Bremen: No Elia offers
Werder Bremen general manager Thomas Eichin has denied that Dutch striker Eljero Elia has been subject to an offer from Greek side PAOK Saloniki.
The 25-year old only joined the Bundesliga club last summer but he struggled to settle in his debut campaign, missing large chunks of the season after picking up a ban for a speeding offence.
PAOK boss Huub Stevens claimed that a deal was already on the table for Elia but Eichin insists that they have received no bids.
"We have not received any enquiry or offer for Eljero Elia," he told BILD.
"Eljero Elia is a player of our club, he has a contract left."
The Dutchman looks set to stay put in Germany and he says he is now looking to prove a point next season.
"I am out to regain the faith of the authorities and supporters of Werder Bremen," said Elia.
"I want to have impressive performances in the new season. I am not giving up, I am not going to quit the club."
