Wenger: Stability is the key
The Gunners have made their worst start to a league campaign in 58 years, with it only recently that they have shown signs of breaking out of an alarming slump. Wenger's position has been called into question as the north London outfit have toiled, with the previously untouchable Frenchman coming in for widespread criticism. He does, however, retain the full backing of the club's board, with major shareholder Stan Kroenke offering his unwavering support. Wenger feels it is imperative that Arsenal stand by those currently charged with generating results, as implementing wholesale changes would only serve to destabilise the club further. "Of course stability is very important within football," he said. "I can't say to the contrary because I have been here for such a long time. "But what we know is that instability - unless you have unlimited financial resources - costs the club very highly." Arsenal's next Premier League test sees them travel to White Hart Lane to take on arch-rivals Tottenham. Wenger insists it is too early to pass judgement on how the season will play out for both clubs, but he is confident that they can challenge for two spots in next season's Champions League. He said: "We have strong squads and can both finish in the top four. "But it is still early in the season, so we just need to concentrate on Sunday's match and make sure we are there in May."
