Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes Jack Wilshere needs to return to first-team action with the Premier League club by the end of April if the midfielder has a chance of making England's squad for the European Championship.
The 20-year-old Wilshere has not played for Arsenal this season after injuring his right ankle in June. He is currently sidelined after sustaining a stress fracture in his right heel in January.
Wenger says ''the next three weeks will be decisive'' for Wilshere's Euro 2012 hopes.
The Frenchman says on Friday ''to go to a big competition without having played at all is impossible. ... You would think a player who wants to play in June will have to be competitive at the end of April.''
