Jenkinson is set to come in at right-back against Sunderland on Sunday with Bacary Sagna out for at least three months with the broken leg he suffered against Tottenham. It is a big challenge for Jenkinson, who made his Arsenal debut in the final qualifying round of the Champions League against Udinese, coming on as a second half substitute for the injured Johan Djourou. Jenkinson has received some stick from the Arsenal fans and struggling particularly against Manchester United in the 8-2 defeat at Old Trafford, eventually being sent off for a foul on Javier Hernandez. Wenger, however, is confident he will bounce back. The Frenchman said: "What happened to him is that he had good and less good games, especially the Man United game. But he had a good game at Udinese four days before. He has top qualities. "His fitness is outstanding, he's quick, he has good crosses, he is good going forward. He needs to adjust a little bit his defensive game. But we are working with him and he is improving." Wenger, whose team lost to Tottenham in their last league match and now lie 12 points adrift of leaders Manchester United, is certain his players can climb the table quickly, although they have seven points from seven games and lie just one point above Sunderland. Wenger said: "They (Sunderland) are a bit like us. You feel they have potential when you look at their squad. They have not found the confidence yet to be consistent but they look to have the squad to be in the top 10. "Our home form is quite good so we just have to continue that. We have been stable defensively at home. We had a disappointing result at Tottenham but we have to keep belief in what we do and the way we do it." Wenger also looked forward to Wednesday's Champions League match against Marseille in France. He said: "They have a similar run to us. A disappointing start in the championship but they have done well in the Champions League. It is exactly the same. "It is a team who have potential. The culture of the city turns around Marseille. It is a massive, massive football place in France, the biggest."
