WC wins for El Salvador and Canada
El Salvador's quest to be a part of the 2014 World Cup finals received another boost with a convincing win.
Los Cuscatlecos, who reached the World Cup finals in 1970 and 1982, started their CONCACAF Group A qualifying campaign with a 3-2 win over the Dominican Republic in San Salvador last week.
And last night El Salvador proved too strong for the Cayman Islands, with defender Luis Anaya (2), Cristian Bautista and Xavier Garcia getting the goals.
In Group B, Keon Daniel and Darryl Roberts scored in each half as Trinidad and Tobago won 2-0 away to Barbados, while Guyana defeated Bermuda 2-1.
Luis Tejada and Blas Perez scored either side of half-time as Panama won 2-1 at Group C rivals Nicaragua, who had levelled through Gabriel Torres' own goal.
Iain Hume, Simeon Jackson and Tosaint Ricketts were on target as Canada eased to a 3-0 success in Puerto Rico in Group D, where St Kitts and Nevis won 4-2 at St Lucia.
Elsewhere, Guatemala won 2-1 in Belize in Group E, while Antigua and Barbuda beat the US Virgin Islands 8-1 and Haiti were 4-2 winners of Curacao in Group F.
