Walters ready for Gills tie
Walters has appeared in all but two of Stoke's 32 league and cup games this season and would have been on the field for every second of their Premier League campaign had he not been withdrawn in stoppage time of their recent draw against Wigan. Despite that, the 28-year-old will not be begging Pulis for a rest when Stoke travel to Kent for their FA Cup third-round tie against Gillingham on Saturday. "Recently, I've been doing just as much as I was at the start of the season," Walters said in the Stoke Sentinel. "In the Championship, I played Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday every week. You can only get fit playing games. "I want to be playing every game we are involved in, but it's up to the manager what team he picks." Walters concedes the recent festive programme of four games in 11 days has been tough, but the former Ipswich man is not about to start complaining. "I think this time of year is nice for the fans, but it's difficult for us," he admitted. "To play another game is difficult, but it's what we are paid to do and you can't help but enjoy it. I wouldn't want to be doing anything else."
