Vlaar has plenty to ponder
The Rotterdam club's captain is out of contract in the summer of 2012, still 18 months away, but is making no plans as to where his long-term prospects may lie. "It's not about money for me," he told Voetbal International. "I know that I'm good enough for the best clubs in the Eredivisie and Feyenoord are normally one of those clubs. "I'd like to know whether I can achieve more." Vlaar's comments come midway during one of the most disappointing seasons in Feyenoord's recent history, with a 10-goal drubbing at the hands of leaders PSV in October a particular lowlight. With that in mind, Vlaar is keen to see if the club can match his ambitions. He added: "I understand that it's important for Feyenoord to know what's going to happen, but I simply don't know what the future holds. "It's a very difficult decision that awaits me. Feyenoord are a big club you can't help but love. "I'm glad that I've played here and that I still play here. This doesn't mean anything regarding my future plans, though."
