Spanish coach Ferrer only took over at GelreDome last November following the sacking of Theo Bos. But results under Ferrer failed to significantly improve, and the club only narrowly missed out on relegation, finishing the 2010/11 campaign in 15th. Technical director Ted van Leeuwen said: "We have jointly decided to end the relationship. "It's always disappointing when a process which had costed a lot of effort is not completed. For the coach and for the club." Van Leeuwen confirmed the search for the a new boss begins right away, adding: "There will be made a decision next week. There are a number of candidates."
