Jonathan Pereira scored the only goal as Villarreal beat Almeria to secure promotion back to the Primera Division.
Pereira struck 10 minutes into the second half to set up the win which sees Villarreal return to the top flight after just one season in the Segunda Division.
The Yellow Submarine finish the campaign in second place, behind champions Elche, while Almeria could yet join them as they go into a four-team play-off for the third promotion place.
