Victory signs Mauritius midfielder Bru

A-League club Melbourne Victory have signed Mauritius defensive midfielder Jonathan Bru on a two-year contract.

Bru, who has played lower division football in France and Portugal, was born in France and represented that country at youth level. He was able to play senior football for Mauritius because his parents were born in the African island nation.

The 27-year-old Bru has represented Mauritius in nine matches, scoring twice.

Victory coach Ange Postecoglou said Bru can make an immediate impact, that he ''looks to be the ideal fit for our squad.''
