AZ maintained their six-point advantage at the top of the table yesterday with a routine 3-0 defeat of ADO Den Haag, after which Verbeek talked up his players. "We are playing at a more constant level," he told Eredivisie Live. "We gave the opponents no chance. The boys do the things they need to do and enjoy it. "We can do more than you think. And there is a certain steeliness developing in our game. It's nice to see." AZ are well clear of PSV Eindhoven and FC Twente, who share second spot, while defending champions Ajax are 11 points adrift. "We will be difficult to stop if we maintain this level," Verbeek added. "I don't know where it will end but as long as we keep on winning we don't need to care about the rest." AZ striker Roy Beerens believes maintaining their current form until Christmas is required before they can be considered genuine title candidates. "A contender? Well we are strong," he told the club's official website. "We must make sure we keep this level until the winter break. "If we still have this advantage then we could create something beautiful. But only then would we consider the title."
