Spanish league club Real Sociedad says it has signed Arsenal forward Carlos Vela on loan for the season.
The Mexico striker heads to Spain one day after Cesc Fabregas also left the Gunners, where Vela has failed to break into the first team since joining in 2007.
Sociedad says Vela still has to pass his medical review, which the 22-year-old will undergo in San Sebastian on Wednesday.
Vela signed for Arsenal in 2005 and has since had loan spells at Spanish clubs Celta Vigo, Salamanca and Osasuna. He spent the second half of last season at West Brom, scoring two goals in eight appearances.
